The Soldier’s Tree |

|
In a world where bigger is often better, a tiny tree realizes that its extra small size can make an extra big difference. This book is a wonderful deployment resource designed to help military children enjoy the Christmas holiday while being separated from a loved one. With a poetic storyline and perfectly imperfect illustrations, The Soldier’s Tree will be loved by children who wear the stars and stripes of America. |

Stephanie Pickup is a freelance writer, mother of four and wife of West Point Graduate, CPT Nathan J. Pickup. The Soldier's Tree was inspired by her own experiences as a military wife after enduring deployments through Christmas with young children. She enjoyed three Army posts in her five years as an active duty military wife, Fort Riley, Kansas; Fort Benning, Georgia; and Fort Drum, New York. Stephanie was an active volunteer in the Massachusetts Army National Guard State Family Program. She chaired her husband's Company Family Readiness Group and coached families through a 12 month deployment. She is the co-founder of Our Heroes' Tree program with fellow author, Marlene Lee (The Hero In My Pocket, That’s My Hope, Early Light Press, LLC). Her personal story, Daughter of a fisherman, wife of a soldier, was recently featured in The Standard Times, the New England Newspaper of the Year. Stephanie attended Kansas State University and currently studies at the University of Massachusetts. |
